A Little Green Market: Popping up in local communities

GreenWheel Food Hub and Kanu Hawaii are working together to scale up pop up farmers markets already proven to be effective at bringing local, fresh food options to communities with limited access to fresh food. The systems designed by the partnership include pioneering innovations to be the first 100% EBT compatible farmers market on Oahu (all items can be purchased with EBT) and offer 100% locally-grown produce. Benefits are significant for community health and the local agriculture industry.

Community Capacity Through Technology

WE...a hui for health is a coalition dedicated to building and enhancing community to address health care access in a timely and culturally competent way. WE is a traveling caravan bringing health education and screening to areas where disparities are high. WE would like to communicate and provide participants with their medical information through the CDMP software, supported by UH. We seek support to adapt the software to meet our program and patients’ needs and provide training to WE staff.

HELE 2 Work Program - Harnessing Empowerment, Learning & Employment to end Homelessness

The HELE 2 Work Program is IHS, The Institute for Human Services’ redesigned employment support program for unemployed adults experiencing homelessness. It focuses on overcoming homelessness through civic engagement, building social networks and skills training. A continuum of work related activities help participants regain confidence and dignity while honing job skills and establishing work experience to re-enter the community as a contributing members.
